Warped HQ is an Africa-focused institution, beginning with Ghana, that documents the people, studios, organisations, conversations, research and opportunities shaping games across Africa.

We work across game development, interactive media, research and documentation, creative technology, educational and experimental experiences, and media and ecosystem conversations — through three core activities: Warped Atlas, Design → Play and Warped Talk.

Warped Atlas is our research, documentation and intelligence platform mapping Africa's game development and interactive ecosystem. It is available at WarpedAtlas.com.

Design → Play is our experiences and experiments area, exploring the intersection of creative practice and game development through experimental projects, educational games and interactive experiences.

Warped Talk is our media and knowledge platform, sharing stories, conversations, perspectives and developments shaping Ghana's and Africa's game ecosystem.

Game developers, studios, creators, researchers, educators, students, media, organisations, funders and anyone interested in Africa's game development ecosystem.

Organisations can propose research, institutional, media or programme partnerships by using the contact form and selecting 'Institutional partnership' or 'Research & collaboration'.

Individuals can contribute through the Support page, share our work, or get in touch to contribute knowledge and documentation.

Contributions are processed securely by Paystack, a licensed payment provider. Warped HQ does not store card details. Contributions fund our research, documentation, experiments, media and operations. See our Terms of Service for refund conditions.
